Smiley-Face Pancakes

My baby boy turned one today. Usually we allow the birthday person to choose the menu that day. But one year olds aren't quite there so I made the choice of smiley-face pancakes. Really its alot more fun for the older kids who can actually make faces on their pancakes. But Taylor didn't mind stuffing down the delicious pancakes either. Here's their beautiful "smiling" faces!

Pioneer Day Parade

July 24th is Pioneer Day in Utah. Our Primary constructed a covered wagon float with many of the kids dressed as pioneers. We borrowed a pioneer dress & bonnet for Ash. The boys used a cowboy hat & bandana we had laying around the house. I'm not much into parades myself but the kids enjoyed it and they looked really cute!

July 4th Seven Peaks

July 4th we spent playing at Seven Peaks Waterpark in Provo Utah. My sister Chantel had arranged for us to get in for free so we just had to go North for the holidays! The kids had so much fun!!! Well worth it.

The drive up wasn't even too bad. Thank goodness for laptops and dvds! It's funny though. I find that I don't enjoy the parks as much as I used to. I was pretty content to sit with Taylor who wasn't too excited to be in the water. I did enjoy the ride with Payton through the Cave-In slide. That was pretty awesome. I had no desire to go down the slides where your body actually gets air. I have this terrifying thought that I will fly right off. It's only that seeing the little kids go down makes me feel ashamed I am so chicken (cluck, cluck).

Farmington Fun!

We spent July 4th weekend in Farminton with the Cooleys. These are pics of our day hike around a small Farminton reservoir. As you can see, the kids had a lot of fun!

2009 Nebeker Reunion

June 2009 we held our 2009 Nebeker Family Reunion. Mom & Dad couldn't make it because they are serving a mission in Africa. Charise was in the in-charge this year and so it was held in North Utah. We spent the first day at Trafalga Amusement Park where we raced cars, watched 3D movies, put-puted around and had a picnic in between the bouts of rain. We tried to get to Seven Peaks Water Park where Chantel had arranged to get us in for free but the weather was uncooperative. With the park closed, we had to cut short our plans. But we did get to swim & Paul & Shelley's apartment complex. The next day, we headed for Ogden Canyon for our camping portion. The weather was off-and-on rainy but we made the most of it. We even did our polar splash in the freeeeeeeeeezing river rapids. Other campers thought we were insane! We got rained out the next day so cut our campout short & headed back to Reese's.

Summer Fun in the Pool

We decided that to save ourselves from a painful, scorching summer, we needed a soothing respite in the form of a pool. No, not the $20k permanent fixture that graces so many of the surrounding homes. But a more economical WM pool with the perfect 2.5 ft depth and boungie sides for all ages. We have had a lot of fun already and with 100+ degrees, the summer is still going strong. If you'll excuse me, I'm feeling the need for a cannonball coming on...

Cool Shades

In sunny St. George you just can't survive without sunglasses. So we all went to the big WM (wal-mart) & got ourselves the coolest $5 shades money can buy. I'm sporting the "rockstar with a little bling on the side" look, Payton's got the drag-racing look well in hand, Ash's Little Pet Shop glasses are trey chic and Logan's green Hulk glasses are true to form.
Logan loved his glasses so much that we couldn't part them from him for weeks. He insisted on wearing them during Nursery as well as during the night as pictured here...
